Attorney and Legislative Advocate
Debi Ores joined the Community Water Center in 2014. As Staff Attorney, Debi is responsible for leading CWC's work on preventing nitrate contamination of drinking water sources. She also works on number of other legislative and regulatory matters including implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act with a focus on ensuring disadvantaged communities are included in the decisions surrounding water management, water affordability, and promoting sustainable water systems.
Prior to working for CWC she interned with the State Water Resources Control Board in the Office of Enforcement and with the Delta Stewardship Council. Both of these positions solidified her desire to work on protecting our State's valuable water resources.
Debi received her B.A. in Political Science from UCLA. She obtained her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law where she was an officer for the Environmental Law Society and an editor for the environmental law journal, Environs.
