Attorney and Legislative Advocate
Debi Ores joined the Community Water Center in 2014. As Attorney and Legislative Advocate, Debi provides legal research and advice on water and environmental justice matters, with a focus on groundwater. She also helps with the analysis and tracking of legislation.
Throughout law school Debi focused on water issues throughout California. She pursued this passion though internships with the State Water Resources Control Board and the Delta Stewardship Council where she worked on issues such as the drafting of the Delta Plan, and Water Board jurisdiction over groundwater supplies. She added to her environmental law experience by interning with the Planning and Conservation League where she pursued CEQA research. Additionally, she worked as a research assistant to an environmental law professor.
Debi received her B.A. in Political Science from UCLA. She obtained her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law where she was an officer for the Environmental Law Society and an editor for the environmental law journal.
