1,2,3-TCP is a toxic pesticide byproduct contaminating groundwater in cities and small communities across California, but it is disproportionately found in drinking water supplies for the San Joaquin Valley. 1,2,3-TCP was added to California's list of carcinogenic chemicals over 15 years ago, but it remains unregulated and therefore untreated in hundreds of communities across the state.
Progress is finally being made at the State Water Board towards establishing a legal limit for 1,2,3-TCP, and residents like you -- who are potentially drinking TCP-contaminated water -- should be involved in the process to make sure we set the most health-protective standard for this chemical.
