Community-driven water solutions through organizing, education, and advocacy

Susana De Anda and Laurel Firestone receive a 2018 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award

This week, The James Irvine Foundation honored our founders, Susana De Anda and Laurel Firestone, as 2018 Leadership Award recipients. Each year, the James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards recognize individuals and organizations that display a commitment to innovation and a record of success in improving people’s lives, creating opportunity, and contributing to a better California. The award comes with $200,000 in recognition of their and Community Water Center’s work empowering California communities to secure safe drinking water.

We’re so proud of Susana, Laurel, and all of our staff and partners for supporting residents who are most affected by the challenge of unsafe drinking water to be at the forefront of change.

Help us spread the word on social media so we can inspire new audiences to support Community Water Center’s work to empower more Californians through education, organizing, and advocacy.
