Community Water Center

Community-driven water solutions through organizing, education, and advocacy

Daisy Gonzalez

Community Solutions Coordinator

Daisy Gonzalez joined the Community Water Center in July 2020. As the Community Solutions Coordinator based in Visalia, Daisy will support San Joaquin Valley communities in making informed decisions about drinking water solutions to meet their needs.

Daisy was born and raised in the Salinas Valley, where she worked as an environmental justice advocate and an elementary school teacher. In her previous role with the Environmental Justice Coalition for Water, Daisy led extensive outreach and education efforts to support communities experiencing unsafe drinking water in the Salinas Valley. As a teacher to students learning English for the first time, Daisy witnessed the power of effective communication and facilitation, which made learning complex information more accessible to children. Her diverse experiences working alongside farmworker families and children have motivated Daisy to continue challenging systemic inequalities that impact communities of color in California.

Daisy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from UC Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Management from UC Merced. Her hobbies include traveling, crafting, and spending time with her family.
