Karina has an ample background in culinary arts and has used this platform to promote food justice in her community. Food justice has inspired her to become involved in community advocacy and is participating in separate social justice movements throughout the valley. She also has training in advocating for green spaces in San Francisco and Tulare County, and aims to teach sustainability and life skills through community gardening. She aims to uplift her community through civic participation and community organizing by being part of the Community Water Center, and hopes to be an example for youth leadership.
Karina Gallardo started at CWC as a volunteer for support on SB 623. She then came on to staff to help with canvassing and civic engagement with Latino voters. Karina has now moved on to becoming the program assistant, and is looking forward to committing to the water justice movement in the Valley.
On her spare time she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and dog (Maya), and hosting her friends for cooking activities in her home.
