Want to help achieve water justice in Northern Tulare County? The Northern Tulare County (NTC) Regional Safe Drinking Water Project is a regional collaborative effort to develop a long-term solution to address the drinking water and water supply needs of the communities within the northern part of the County of Tulare (Cutler, East Orosi, Monson, Orosi Seville, Sultana, and Yettem). The goals of this project are to: 1) identify regional alternatives available to help the region solve its water related needs, 2) identify adequate and community supported governance structures, and 3) implement a solution that is supported by the region and can deliver safe, sustainable, and affordable drinking water in the long term.
Funding for the engineering analysis has been secured and a planning process has begun. In October 2014, a Draft Report for the NTC Regional Surface Water Treatment Plant Study was completed. The draft report is currently open for public comments until December 15, 2014. The final report is due in February 2015.
On Dec. 1st, we're hosting a meeting with NTC region residents and stakeholders. If you're interested in reviewing the report and and attending the meeting, please contact CWC Community Organizer Ryan Jensen, at 559-733-0219. Please RSVP here or by reaching out to CWC staff so we can provide you with the background information to be an informed participant at the meeting. Thanks for your interest in developing shared water solutions for Northern Tulare County!
