Reyna Gabriel-Peralta joined Community Water Center in February 2020. As a community organizer based in Watsonville, Reyna supports CWC’s organizing and base-building work in the Central Coast.
Reyna was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. She recently graduated from UC Merced where she received her BA in Anthropology. On campus, Reyna was involved in spaces advocating around issues affecting undocumented and first-generation students. Reyna has worked for 99Rootz, a youth-organizing nonprofit in Merced, CA, where she led canvassing efforts for first-time voters across the Central Valley. She was also a volunteer organizer for Movimiento Cosecha, an immigrants’ rights movement based in the East Coast. Reyna is dedicated to, and passionate about, working on immigration, environmental justice, education and gender rights, and believes in the power of intersectional and intergenerational work.
Having grown up in Watsonville, Reyna understands the disparities and is ready to support her community through her position as a community organizer.
