10th Annual Water Justice Leadership Awards

­Join Community Water Center’s 10th Annual Water Justice Leadership Awards on Wednesday, March 11th, at 5:30 p.m. at Cafeteria 15L 1116 15th St, Sacramento, CA.  

We are excited to come together to recognize leaders who have worked tirelessly, often against great odds, to ensure the human right to safe drinking water in California.

This year, we are honoring 20 years of building the movement and water policy wins as we continue to advance water justice:

  • The Human Right to Water

  • SGMA

  • The passage and extension of SAFER

  • Groundbreakings for West Goshen and Springfield long-term solutions projects

This year’s awardees include:

Legislative Champions

  • Senator Pro Tempore Monique Limon, for her support of the SAFER Reauthorization and continued support of Water Justice legislation

Community Leadership Awards

  • San Joaquin Valley: Maria Luisa & Lisa Muñoz for their advocacy for more groundwater protection, water affordability, and service on the SAFER Advisory Group

  • Central Coast: Ana Maria & Silverio Perez for mobilizing their community, continued advocacy, and service on the SAFER Advisory Group

Ally Organizations

  • Leadership Council and Clean Water Action, for their invaluable partnership in advancing water affordability and amplifying environmental justice voices throughout California

Agency

  • State Water Board for the SAFER program’s long-term investment in drinking water infrastructure for underserved communities

Proceeds from events like the Water Justice Leadership Awards provide the resources needed for CWC to ensure communities are engaged, informed, and ready to act.
